These two programs were filmed in the 1960's and 70's at two of America's railroading hot spots - Chicago and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Twin Cities program begins just after the merger of the Burlington, Great Northern and Norther Pacific railroads which formed the Burlington Northern. Also the short line Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern with its rare Baldwin Center-cab switcher is shown. A special highlight is a ride in a dome car on the Morning and Afternoon Twin Cities Zephyr. Also shown are the Soo Line, Chicago & North Wester, Rock Island and Milwaukee Road.
The Chicago program is a collection of films taken in the 60's and 70's at the best train watching locations in Chicago and northern Indiana. An amazing variety of motive power heads up a terrific mix of freight and passenger trains on the fallen flags and early Amtrak trains. This DVD includes the option of watching with or without narration.
